Philip Garland, CIO of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, explains how the major global market dynamics are changing the way he serves his clients.

"More time is focused on the strategy and innovation side instead of the 'keeping the lights on side'. The nature of technology enablement, such as the cloud and outsourcing that frees up the time of the IT organization to be more strategic. I don't expect we will ever go back to the days where the CIO was essentially running the data center, running all the application development and maintenance, running the help desk and the customer support. I don't see that day ever coming back."
