Who initiates technology projects at your organization — leaders in the business units or the IT department? At innovation-driven companies, it's a combination of the two, according to new research from Harvard Business Review Analytic Services.
The recent survey of more than 400 business leaders found that many organizations with innovative IT don't just rely on leaders in the business or IT department to come up with new ideas. Almost half (48%) of organizations that self-identified as having innovative IT said that "IT and the business typically engage together to identify innovation opportunites," according to the research.
