Gerrard Gier is the Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer at VNA California. Gier provides leadership for the continued development of an innovative, mobile, robust, and secure information technology environment throughout VNA California. He is responsible for leading VNA California’s technology strategy and managing overall IT operations and customer service.
His initiatives include improving service delivery through embracing effective and efficient use of technology; creating mobility models in support of delivering patient care within their homes; providing secure information for all parties within the continuum of homecare and hospice; promoting online environment for clinicians to increase patient satisfaction and clinician self-service capabilities; and leading strategic initiatives to deliver technology to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to the clinician point of care.
Prior to joining VNA California, Gier was with St. Joseph Health providing project management services, application rationalization, enterprise and solutions architecture, and systems implementations. In a prior role, he consulted with Toyota Motor Services providing IT strategic planning, project management services, application development, release management and web portal development. He has experience in the finance sector working with Lending Tree and Washington Mutual where he specialized in business intelligence, application development, web development, ERP implementations and project management services. He started his career with IBM where he provided project management services, process and performance improvement analysis, infrastructure implementations, web and software development, and business intelligence and analytics.
Gier holds a B.A in Human Services and a Masters of Science in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University.
