Bill Martin is the recently retired Chief Information Officer for Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. He was responsible for information technology covering both the shoreside business systems as well as the innovative guest systems onboard the ships. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. includes Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara Club Cruises, Pullmantur (Spain), and Croisieres De France cruise brands. The company operates 41 modern vessels worldwide with a guest capacity of more than 98,500.Royal Caribbean's technology department delivers industry-leading solutions for both guests and travel agents, providing access to state-of-the-art business solutions and engaging on-board guest technology. In 2013, the company received the “Best Tech Enabled New Product” award from InformationWeek magazine for introducing an eight fold increase in internet capacity across the fleet. Royal Caribbean has enjoyed the top innovation ranking from InformationWeek among all hospitality companies for two years running. Bill was also voted by CIO peers in the CIO Leadership Network as a “Top Ten Breakaway Leader” for 2011.A 30-year cruise industry veteran, Bill has held various executive and management positions in operations, decision support and revenue management. Bill has a degree in business administration and is happily married with four children. Bill is also the chairman of the board of directors for His House Children’s Home of Miami, a nonprofit agency that provides foster and residential care for children in need.
