Gene’s current role at Novant Health leads a cross-functional organization of technologists and strategists in delivering web/mobile solutions for patients, consumers, providers, the workforce, and business operations. He is advancing Product Development practices across a diverse set of products impacting patients, consumers, and team members. The team Gene leads delivers consumer-facing web solutions, bot/AI tools, mobile apps, corporate Intranets, CRM solutions, and custom business applications. The department delivers with agility while staying focused on user research, insights, development efficiencies, and outcomes measurement.
Before Novant, Gene held executive roles at Premier Healthcare and Belk Departments stores. He has served as a senior leader at eBay and has engaged numerous businesses across the industry in a consulting capacity focused on Project Delivery, Agility Practices, Process Improvement, and Digital Strategy. Early in his career, Gene worked as an application developer with IBM, building solutions for diverse customers. Over his career, Gene has enjoyed a track record as a technology and business leader known for his extensive industry expertise and ability to build organizations, teams, and individuals.
Gene has a B.S. degree from the University of Pittsburgh (Industrial Engineering), a Master of Science from Georgia Tech (International Affairs), and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Gene also has a certificate as a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Villanova University).
