Susan Snedaker is the Chief Information Officer for El Rio Health and a member of the ISACA Emerging Trends Working Group. She drives strategy for information technology, digital transformation, and population health initiatives to advance El Rio’s mission of providing comprehensive healthcare services for the Tucson community. Susan is responsible for setting the strategic direction of all IT initiatives, including oversight for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) software, which is at the heart of the organization’s mission.
Prior to joining El Rio Health, Susan was the Information Security Officer and senior IT Director at Tucson Medical Center, a 600+ bed acute care community hospital, where she developed an industry-leading cybersecurity program. Susan is an accomplished speaker and award-winning author. Her book, Leading Healthcare IT: Managing to Succeed won the 2018 HIMSS Book of the Year Award. She is the author of nine books and numerous articles about technology, cybersecurity, and healthcare IT.
Susan holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Management as well as numerous industry certifications.
