Muthu Arumugham

SVP & CIO, Financial and Risk Management Solutions, Fiserv

Muthu Arumugham serves Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer,  Financial and Risk Management Solutions, at Fiserv. Previously he served as Corporate Vice President of Technology at Ebix, Inc. Muthu has led top-performance, enterprise-level IT initiatives serving financial services and insurance vertical markets across the globe. Combining long-term experience in corporate IT operations with a deep-seated, foundational comprehension of application engineering, enterprise product and solution development, and global client management, he has contributed to strategic planning initiatives responsible for exponential company growth.  Muthu assumes the role as Chief Privacy Officer developing and executing security, compliance, and training programs that consistently ensure SOX, ISO 27001, SSAE 16, HIPAA, PCI and other audit successes. Establishing and implementing best practices, Muthu drives product development and platform management to assure security, compliance, and scalability while managing integration of all newly acquired companies and products across different lines of business. He is responsible for insurance exchanges where billions of insurance transactions are conducted across the globe.  

Muthu completed executive program from MIT Sloan School of Management. He completed Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Hyderabad, India. He also possesses a Bachelor of Science in Physics from University of Madras, India. 

Muthu serves on the advisory board of Georgia CIO Leadership Association (GCLA), charter member of TiE, member of Society for Information Management (SIM) and serves on the advisory board of a few other organizations. He was the winner of 2016 Georgia CIO of the Year in Corporate category. The CIO of the Year® Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in Georgia. This annual event honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Award recipients are selected by peers from prior CIO of the Year winners who evaluate finalists on contributions in the areas of innovation, leadership, business value creation, and community involvement.
